Cookie Policy

This policy explains which cookies we use on this site and why, how long we keep them and how you can change your choice. It is also our KVKK privacy notice for cookies.

Version 1.1 · Effective 15 October 2026 · Last updated 15 October 2026

This is an English translation for convenience. The Turkish version is the legally binding text: Türkçe metin.

In short

This site has no tracking cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising or social media cookies. There are no pixels or device fingerprinting either.

When you first visit the site, a small information box explains this. When you click "Got it", we write a single strictly necessary cookie (solon_cerez) to your browser so that we do not show the box again on every page. We do not write any other cookie.

We serve fonts and videos from our own server. No request goes to Google or any other third party while you browse the site.

If we add a cookie that requires your consent in the future, we will ask you before the cookie is loaded. The "Accept" and "Reject" buttons will be equal. Nothing is switched on unless you switch it on. We will also update this page first.

1. Data controller

The data controller for personal data on this site under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK") is the following company:

In this policy, "we", "Solon" and the "Company" refer to OnlyJS Teknoloji A.Ş.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers the processing carried out with cookies and similar technologies on the Solon website and all of its subpages. It does not cover the Solon product itself, the systems we deploy for our customers, or other sites we link to.

We prepared it under the following rules:

  • The obligation to inform under Article 10 of KVKK and the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles to Be Followed in Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform.
  • The Personal Data Protection Authority's (the Authority) Guide on Cookie Practices (July 2025 version).
  • The Personal Data Protection Board (the Board) principle decision No. 2026/347 dated 18.02.2026.

This policy only informs you. It does not ask for your consent, and reading it does not mean that you consent to anything. If we use cookies that require consent, we ask for your consent separately from this policy, in the cookie preferences panel.

The other personal data processing on the site is explained in the Privacy Notice. This policy is the part of it that deals with cookies.

3. What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file that your browser saves on your device when you visit a website. The site can read this file in later requests. This is how it remembers you or your choices.

Where this policy says "cookie", we also mean technologies that do a similar job: the browser's local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage), pixels (web beacons) and device fingerprinting. We apply the same rules to them as to cookies.

4. Types of cookies

By how long they last

  • Session cookie: Deleted when you close the browser.
  • Persistent cookie: Stays for a set period. It goes away when the period ends or when you delete it.

By who places them

  • First-party cookie: A cookie of the site you see in the address bar, that is, our cookie.
  • Third-party cookie: Comes from another company's domain. For example, an analytics or advertising tool embedded in the site.

By purpose

  • Strictly necessary: Needed for the site to work or to do something you have expressly asked for. Remembering your cookie preference is of this type. It does not require your consent.
  • Functional: Remembers your choices, such as language, and runs embedded content (e.g. video).
  • Analytics: Measures how the site is used. For example, how many times a page was opened and where visitors came from.
  • Marketing: Measures the effect of ads, shows you relevant ads, and may recognize you across sites.

We use functional, analytics and marketing cookies only with your explicit consent.

5. Cookies we use on this site

Strictly necessary cookies

NameProvider · partyPurposeType · durationLegal basis
solon_cerezOnlyJS Teknoloji A.Ş. · first partyStores your cookie preference (which categories you allowed), the date of the preference, the policy version and a random record number. This way we do not ask you again on every page.
Today it only records that you closed the information box, the date you closed it and the policy version; it does not contain a record number. If we start using a cookie that requires consent, it will also store your preference and a random record number when you make a choice. Where a cookie cannot be written, it is written under the same name to the browser's local storage.

Cookies that require your consent

NameProvider · partyPurposeType · durationTransfer abroad
None at the moment. We do not use functional, analytics or marketing cookies.

We review this list every time we add a new tool and at least every six months.

6. Things that are not cookies but you should know about

  • Fonts: We serve the Newsreader, Geist and Geist Mono fonts from our own server. No request goes to Google Fonts, and your IP address is not sent to Google.
  • Videos: Our introduction videos come from our own server. Our video player does not write cookies. We do not use YouTube or Vimeo.
  • External links: We link to our team's LinkedIn profiles. Our pages have no LinkedIn plugin, button or pixel; nothing is sent to LinkedIn unless you click the link. When you click it, you go to LinkedIn's site, and that site's cookies are subject to LinkedIn's own policy.
  • Server logs: The server that hosts the site writes the IP address that comes with each request, the date and time, the page requested and browser information to technical logs for security and debugging. These are not cookies; they are explained in the Privacy Notice.

7. Purposes, legal bases and method of collection

CategoryPurposeLegal basis
Strictly necessarySecure operation of the site. Remembering your cookie preference and, if we have obtained consent, being able to prove it.KVKK Art. 5(2)(ç): fulfilling our legal obligation. KVKK Art. 5(2)(f): our legitimate interest, provided it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms.
FunctionalRemembering your choices, running embedded content.KVKK Art. 5(1): your explicit consent.
AnalyticsMeasuring and improving how the site is used.KVKK Art. 5(1): your explicit consent.
MarketingMeasuring the effect of our ads, showing relevant ads.KVKK Art. 5(1): your explicit consent.

Method of collection: Through cookies, via your browser, by automated means.

Data that may be processed: Your cookie preference and its date, a random record number, and the Global Privacy Control signal your browser sends. If we use cookies that require consent, also device and browser information, browsing information (pages opened, time spent) and a truncated IP address.

We do not process special categories of personal data (such as health or beliefs) with cookies. We do not make any automated decision based on cookie data that affects you on its own.

8. Transfers and transfers abroad

Today we do not transfer cookie data to anyone. The strictly necessary preference cookie stays only in your browser.

If we add a cookie that requires consent, we will name on this page who the data goes to. Recipients may come from these groups:

  • Suppliers we use: hosting, analytics and advertising service providers.
  • Public institutions and organizations authorized by law, only if they request it and the law requires it.

Transfers abroad: We use a service that sends data abroad only under Article 9 of KVKK and the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles for the Transfer of Personal Data Abroad. There is no adequacy decision for any country. For this reason, we sign the standard contract announced by the Board with the recipient without changing it, and we notify the Authority within 5 business days after signing.

Transfers repeated on every visit are not incidental. For this reason, we do not rely on your explicit consent alone for transfers abroad. Your cookie consent relates to the use of the cookie.

9. Managing your preferences

During any period in which we use a cookie that requires consent, it works like this:

  • When you first visit the site, a banner appears at the bottom of the page. Its three buttons have the same size, color and font size: Accept all, Reject all, Manage preferences.
  • The banner does not cover the content; you can browse the site without making a choice. Browsing, scrolling or ignoring the banner does not count as consent. No cookie that requires consent is loaded until you make a choice.
  • "Manage preferences" lets you switch each category on or off separately. All switches except the strictly necessary ones are off when the panel first opens.
  • You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences button at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
  • When you withdraw consent, we delete our site's cookies in that category and reload the page. We cannot technically delete cookies that belong to other domains; use your browser settings for those (section 10).
  • We remember your choice for 180 days. When that period ends, or when a new purpose, category or service provider is added to this policy, we ask you again.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, marketing cookies stay off. You can switch them on yourself in the panel if you wish.

Since there are no cookies that require consent today, we do not ask for your permission; asking for permission for a strictly necessary cookie would be misleading. Instead, an information box appears on your first visit. It explains that this site has no tracking cookies and has a single "Got it" button. Closing the box is not consent. If we add a cookie that requires consent in the future, the three-button banner above will appear instead of the information box and we will ask you again. Today the preferences panel shows only the strictly necessary category.

10. Browser settings

You can also view, delete or block cookies in your browser. This setting is separate from the choice you make on this site and affects all sites.

If you block all cookies, some features on some sites may not work. The content of this site works fully without cookies.

11. Retention periods

  • The solon_cerez strictly necessary cookie: 180 days. When the period ends, your browser deletes it and the information box appears once more.
  • Cookies that require consent: the duration of each one is in the table in section 5. None exceeds 13 months.
  • Consent records: If we start keeping consent records on the server (when consent was given, for which version and for which category; without your name or full IP address), we will keep them for as long as the consent is valid and then for as long as needed to prove it in a possible dispute, and then delete them. We will state this on this page together with the period.

When the period ends, we delete the data under the Regulation on the Erasure, Destruction or Anonymization of Personal Data.

12. Your rights

Under Article 11 of KVKK, you can apply to us to:

  1. Learn whether your personal data is processed.
  2. Request information about it if it has been processed.
  3. Learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose.
  4. Know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it has been transferred.
  5. Request correction if it has been processed incompletely or inaccurately.
  6. Request its erasure or destruction under the conditions in Article 7 of KVKK.
  7. Request that the correction, erasure and destruction be notified to the third parties to whom the data has been transferred.
  8. Object to a result against you that arises from analysis carried out solely by automated systems.
  9. Request compensation for damage you suffered because of unlawful processing.

You can also withdraw the explicit consent you have given at any time. The easiest way is the Cookie preferences button at the bottom of the page.

13. How to apply

You can make your application under the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller in one of the following ways:

  • In writing: With a petition bearing your wet-ink signature, delivered by hand to our address in section 1, or sent by post or through a notary.
  • With a secure electronic signature or mobile signature: by sending your signed application to [email protected].
  • By email: to [email protected] from the email address you have previously given us and that is registered in our system.

Your application must include: your first and last name, your signature if you apply in writing, your Turkish national identity number (if you are a foreign national, your nationality and passport or identity number), your residential or business address for notifications, your email address, phone and fax number if any, and your request.

We conclude your application within 30 days at the latest. As a rule, it is free of charge. If the written reply exceeds 10 pages, we may charge TRY 1 for each page. If the reply is given on a medium such as a CD or a memory stick, we may charge the cost of the medium.

If your application is rejected, if you find our reply insufficient, or if we do not reply in time, you can file a complaint with the Board within 30 days from the date you learn of our reply, and in any case within 60 days from the date of your application.

14. Visitors from the European Union

If you visit from the European Union or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ePrivacy rules may also apply. In that case, in addition to the rights above, you have the right to request restriction of processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country.

For you too, we use cookies that require consent only with your consent. Rejecting is as easy as accepting. We do not keep your choice for longer than 6 months.

15. Changes

We update this policy when we add a new cookie or service provider, or when the law changes. The current version is always on this page. If there is a material change, we increase the version number and ask for your preference again.
